about

In what is perhaps seen as an unlikely and unusual move, I'm writing these notes before a shred of the music here has been conceived, practised or recorded. So what are the plans I have for it?

The concept for this started with the album for Colours named Blanchette. I wanted to capture something of that form, in particular that form expressed by the musical expression found within Blanchette 01 which (to me) seems to come from somewhere far away and quite mysterious. The two subsequent tracks are informed by this same position, but in slightly lessened form. What was I aiming for? As I have said elsewhere, it's that feeling of isolation, whilst staring into the brilliance of a cold winter sun. Is that too specific? Maybe it is.

The EP is an EP because to make it longer would overstretch it and to make it shorter would be only a matter of referring you back to where the inspiration came from. If I am going to make this work I have to work within specific vectors, such as time and place. So to work I shall go.
